SVP, Digital Marketing

CHALLENGE

Lippe Taylor, an independent PR and Marketing services agency was seeking a Senior Vice President of Digital Marketing, to hire a leader who could take the digital practice past the next inflection point. With little luck the company first tried to conduct the search on its own, then engaged several search firms. Neither approach was fruitful. The firm’s CEO + COO called on Engro Partners to tackle the challenge.

ACTION

Engro Partners team found an important clue while conducting its Deep Dive: The person who built the department was much stronger in some areas than others and this is why the department wasn’t growing as rapidly as it should. Pursuing this area of inquiry deeper enabled our team to identify the critical leadership skills, accomplishments, and personality that would bolster growth. Furthermore we were able to help create a more supportive and effective support team that was able to drive greater success.

RESULT

Engro took steps to help this PR and Marketing services agency address the issues that not only made it difficult to attract the ideal business partner but the Deep Dive also offered significant clarity around the competencies and behaviors needed in a successful hire.
